Warhammer Online: Addons and You version 1.1
You might like find this game good. Even better than similar games. And I'll show you one thing that makes it even better. But I'll inform you some first, and help you understand what it is, and what you can profit from it.
The human brain is able to handle a lot of things at the same time, but once deeply, deeply concentrated and focus of its action the capacity of handling several things at once falls to sleep with fishes; it dies. And who are you gonna call? Ghostbusters exists only within movies, and for some geeks. Let's face it, you have to deal with it anyway! And how are you gonna deal with it, when you cannot call someone, and you're all by your self at maximum capacity? That's right.. Addons!
They will smack you in the face when you have low health or action points or when your fellowship are failing some some reason. Even if you can't see it for yourself, it can fail! And when your capacity finally sees it for itself, it can be too late, and it ends in death! As if that's so bad in Warhammer Online, huh? Well can be worse.. WIPE!
Well, that's the edge crusher. This is how you can get help on your very own:
1. Did you try to call for help? If not, it's time to try, at least. Well, that's why you came here, isn't it? That's why you are reading this way too fast, perhaps you missed something, a word or two had to unwind in your head to even make sense. So slow down, you'll get through this wall-of-text eventually. 2. Go to http://www.curse.com/client/ and make friend with the client. Download and install! PC or MAC. If you have neither, though luck. You'll have to do ALL manually. 3. Then, once it is installed, it needs to run of course, and update itself. And then you have it, like a wide new Internet in your very hands. The Curse Addon Database! Sweet! 4. Normally the Curse client finds the game itself, and sets it up. If it doesn't, you need to do it manually. 5. Now, you'll need a few addons that you find cool, useful or flashy. I have a few that I would recommend. And I'll tell you what it does.
Recommended addons: *AnywhereTrainer – This makes you see the skills and career planner anywhere. Listed at the side of the character sheet. *Blackbox – This will remove the “Resurrecting" black box, and make another smaller one. *Equipment Sets – This will store all your equipment, talents and morales into a set. So that you can switch quickly and painless. *HealAll – This will press the “Heal All” button at any healer, so that you don't even have to see the window. *Join Selected Scenarios – This will join only the scenarios that you select, from a little menu the author created. *JunkDelete – This will delete the junk that you pick up, it'll throw the item of least value away f.ex. *JunkDump – This little fellow adds a “Sell Junk” button to the merchants, so that you don't have to sweep your inventory for all the grey stuff. *KillingBlow – I find it useful to see if I had the kill of the monster/player or not. Some satesfaction I might add. *LibSlash – You need this addon for some of the others, don't ask. *LibStub – You need this addon for some of the others, don't ask. *Phantom – This will let you do things Mythic didn't add. Like removing a few windows or UI frames. Like your own character, pet, influence bar etc. *Pure – This will replace the UI frames that there by default. They will become easier to look at, with more details. And the health bar for the monsters/players over their head will be much larger. Edit: (There's also an additional addon for the Career Pool). *QuickNameActions – If you want to /who a player, invite or try to get invited by clicking names in chat, you must get this! *TomeTitan – Some might find this cheaty addon over the line, but I like it. It keeps almost all the answers to Tome of Knowledge. Like title unlocks, and “secret” achievements, all divided into tiers and locations. Edit: (Removed from Curse webpages) *WarBoard – At the top of your screen you'll get a bar, which is customizable, which shows you your XP, Renown, gold, free slots in your bags. All sort of stuff in one place, amazing! *Wikki's CoolDown Bar – I do love to have control when my skills are on cooldown, how much left, and even have the skill flashing above your head when it's ready, again.
As you can see, most addons help you. And when one player has it, he can gain an advantage over those not having the addon. There are a lot more addon than these, as you can see for your self. You'll just have to think of something you'd want, or just go and try a bunch. But read the description first, you might need some addons for it to work. Or it could be out dated, and not working. Got a replacement and so on.
All changes you do, to all UI and most addons will be stored for other characters that you have. If not, Mythic implemented an “Import” last patch, so that it is possible to get all equal. A patch! Whenever there's a new big patch coming, your addons might not act as they did! They may not be able to work with the new implemented stuff from Mythic. But fear not.. Once you log in on one of your characters(actually all characters!), you will be met with a window telling you addons have been disabled. So you press the "Re-enable..." button and check all addons you find(or the ones you want to enable).
Once you have done this, all addons will then be enabled, and it will reload your UI(User Interface). Once this is done, it will probably look pretty messy, because all settings have been reset, but don't grab and tear your hair off just yet. A new window will appear, enabling you to select one of your other characters for importing the UI profile, and once you do that all will be good. If not, take a good grab at your hair and...
No wait, try to log out and back in.. Better? If not, you might need to disable the addon that you suspect is making an error, or is clearly not working. And you will have to wait for an update on the addon. If you don't know which addon is causing the trouble. One and one addon will need to be disabled until the issue is fixed. So leave your hair alone, for now.. Also notice that when you(or a patch for that matter) change the resolution, addons might also need to be moved some on the screen via the in-game UI layout manager.
I hope this helps!
